The upgrade was unveiled by Huawei CEO Richard Yu at the IFA 2019 trade show in Berlin. “The New P30 Pro will deliver a new photographic experience to the user,” Yu said. “It will and create a richer, and more exciting consumer experience with its pleasing colour scheme and dual texture design.” Huawei CEO Richard Yu unveiling the The original P30 Pro was released in March, boasting an impressive 40-megapixel camera that features an impressive 50x hybrid zoom. That allows users to take crystal clear photos of objects far off in the distance. It has a decent 6.41in display with curved glass that bends round the sides of the device. The P30 Pro now comes with a new finish that combines both glossy and matte textures. The new design is available in two colours: Mystic blue and misty lavender. Boosted photo and video editing tools, as well as a new “night selfie” mode that helps you snap pics of yourself in the dark, round off the changes. That’s because the ban only affects Huawei’s new phones, while the P30 Pro is an older handset. The New P30 Pro will hit shelves in the UK on September 7 for around £750. Also at Friday’s event, Huawei showed off a new pair of wireless ear buds, the FreeBuds 3 that look a lot like Apple’s AirPods. Huawei said the buds come with active noise cancellation tech that you can control via an app on your phone. The Chinese company also unveiled a new 5G processor. The Kirin 990 5G promises faster data, AI and camera performance on 5G phones, according to Huawei. The releases come amid a period of turmoil and uncertainty for Huawei. What is IFA? A quick guide Here's everything you need to know IFA is a gigantic annual tech conference held in Berlin, attracting nearly 250,000 visitors each year It’s typically held in the first week of September and has been running since 1924 Some of tech’s biggest names, including the likes of Sony, Samsung, Huawei and more gather at the event to show off their new gadgets TVs, phones, smart watches and more are shown off at the show – nearly anything goes at IFA For those who are curious, the acronym stands for Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin (International radio exhibition Berlin) In May, President Donald Trump signed an executive order banning “foreign adversaries” like Huawei from the US telecomms industry. This order was later delayed by three months, and recently received a second 90-day extension, which is due to end on November 19. However, that extension only applies to phones already released – and not new upcoming models. The firm was recently banned from using any Google app on its next major smartphone release. It was the first real impact of the US trade ban on phone owners, who as a result may be put off buying the upcoming Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro phones. Both handsets were expected to launch on September 18.
