'MANCHESTER UNITED eased to a 4-0 victory against their bitter rivals Leeds in Australia – and the kids shone for Solskjaer. Despite it being eight years since the two played each other, there is no love lost between the two. Manchester United were impressive in a dominant first half against fierce rivals Leeds Getty Images - Getty Goals from Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford and Phil Jones gave Solskjaer’s troops a welcome victory Down Under. The gaffer fielded two completely different teams in each half, and it proved far too much for Leeds who only brought a threadbare squad to Australia. Here, SunSport’s John Hutchinson rates each player’s performance out of 10 and talks out what Manchester United fans can expect this season. FIRST HALF Sergio Romero – 7 The Argentine made a super save from Patrick Bamford who will have been gutted not to level the scores. When called upon he rarely lets anyone down and if David De Gea ends up turning down a new contract, he should be given a chance. Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 8 Summer signing from Crystal Palace showed his attacking intent early doors, delivering perfectly for Mason Greenwood to fire home the opener. His marauding runs down the right will be music to the ears of United fans. Victor Lindelof – 8 Solskjaer is likely to encourage the Swede to play out from the back this season, and he pinged out some pearlers showing he is up to the task. Hoping to show Solskjaer that there is no desperation to bring in centre-halves. Marcus Rashford led the line superbly and will be Solskjaer’s first-choice striker this season Getty Eric Bailly – 6 Facing a make-or-break season at Old Trafford, there is no doubting there is something there. Dealt with Patrick Bamford and Kemar Roofe capably, but his positioning sometimes let him down. Marcus Rojo – 6 Surprising to many United fans that Rojo is still at Old Trafford, but he put in a solid shift in his original position of left-back. Could still make a move away from the club, but provides solid experience on the left and in central defence. Scott McTominay – 8 This should be the season where McTominay establishes himself in central midfield – at the expense of Nemanja Matic. The 22-year-old offers more mobility and a better engine, and he was levels above the likes of Adam Forshaw and £25m-rated Kalvin Phillips. Paul Pogba – 8 Laid in a delightful pass to Wan-Bissaka in the lead up to the game’s opening goal. It was a disciplined performances from the Frenchman who reportedly wants away – but he played like he wants to stay. Daniel James showed his electric pace during the first half as his stock continues to rise Getty Images - Getty Mason Greenwood – 7 Solskjaer says the 17-year-old will “100 per cent score goals this season”. Just six minutes in the teen had put his side ahead. Very much raw, but echoes of how Rashford burst onto the scene and interesting to see how the two communicate this season. Juan Mata – 6 Disciplined display from the Spaniard who Solskjaer seems to want to put a lot of faith in. United fans have been more impressed with his attitude than other midfielder like Jesse Lingard and Paul Pogba. Could surprise a few next season. Dan James – 7 His electric pace was fully on show in the first 45, with Leeds defenders not having a clue how to deal with it. Solskjaer will now work on his final ball and crossing, but there is a big talent on his hands. Marcus Rashford – 9 Showed why he will be Solskjaer’s first-choice striker next season with a beautiful piece of skill to leave two Leeds players in a tangle before he made it 2-0. Can be a mentor to rookie Greenwood despite only being 21-years-old. \t \t\t \t\t \t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t Latest Manchester United News \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\tMAN UTD RATINGS\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\tRashford and Chong star and Pogba plays like he wants to stay\t\t\t \t\t\t \t \t \t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\tMAN UTD 4 LEEDS 0\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\tRashford and Jones score as Man Utd blitz Leeds in pre-season romp\t\t\t \t\t\t \t \t \t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\tunited news\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\tMan Utd transfer news LIVE - Latest news and gossip from Old Trafford\t\t\t \t\t\t \t \t \t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\tMAN UTD 4 LEEDS 0\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\tMartial adds penalty as Ole's men take charge of pre-season friendly\t\t\t \t\t\t \t \t \t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\tGREEN DAY\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\tMan Utd fans reckon Greenwood is better than Lukaku after goal against Leeds\t\t\t \t\t\t \t \t \t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\tPOG WALKER\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\tJuve and Real target Pogba's agent Raiola insists transfer could still be on\t\t\t \t\t\t \t \t \t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t \t \t \t \t SECOND HALF Joel Pereira – 6 Nothing on note to do for the 23-year-old back-up Swiss keeper. Will probably get chances in one of the cup competitions, unless Solskjaer decides to loan him out. Likes the ball at his feet which is a bonus. Diogo Dalot – 7 Rumoured to be heading out of Old Trafford this summer, United fans would still expect Dalot to be first-choice left-back next season. That’s until another alternative is brought in anyway. Chris Smalling – 6 Must be hurt by the criticisms that United’s back line isn’t up to scratch. Smalling will have to raise his game as the likes of Lindelof and Bailly are expected to raise their games this season. Phil Jones – 7 Usual attacking threat from set pieces, and he thundered home the third goal for his team not long after the whistle went for the second half. Ashley Young – 5 Surprising the full-back got a new deal – many thought he might move on in search of regular first-team football. But his experience could benefit the young guns coming through. Booked for a shocker of a challenge on Forshaw after earlier thinking he was elbowed. Expect better from him Nemanja Matic – 5 Hard to see where the Serbian fits in that midfield now with a host of top young talent coming through. Did his usual job in the centre, but expect Solskjaer will want more fluidity. Andreas Pereira – 8 Delivered a scrumptious corner straight onto the head of Phil Jones for 3-0. His bleached bonce ensures he stands out – but he will be hoping his performances do that aswell. Tahith Chong – 9 Scouts have raved about him for a couple of seasons now, and United’s hidden gem is poised to be revealed to the masses. Won the penalty for the fourth goal scored by Martial after a great 1-1 with Gomes, he leaves defenders’ heads in a fuzz. Jesse Lingard – 5 Important season ahead for Lingard, and far from certain where Solskjaer fits him into a starting XI. United fans will be wanting to do his talking with the ball and not on Instagram. Angel Gomes – 7 Excited fans and staff alike in pre-season last campaign, but hardly featured for Jose Mourinho and latterly Solskjaer. Another player who seems to want to do things differently out there, and that’s what United fans want to hear. Confident, talented and tricky. Anthony Martial – 6 Given his favoured position up front, he announced himself into the game in the 60th minute with an unintentional hand to the face of Stuart Dallas. Predictably, this wound-up the leads fans who chanted “scum” at Martial. Netted the penalty that added gloss to the scoreline but didn’t do much else.'

Brendan Rodgers reveals to talkSPORT Leicester have turned down TWO bids for Harry Maguire that we’re ‘nowhere near’ club’s valuation

'Brendan Rodgers has told talkSPORT both Leicester City and Harry Maguire are ‘relaxed’ about the defender’s future because no club has met the Foxes’ valuation of the player. Manchester City and Manchester United have both been linked with moves for the 26-year-old, with reports on Monday suggesting the Red Devils had made an £80million bid for the former Hull City man. Brendan Rodgers is relaxed about Harry Maguire’s situation at Leicester City getty images However, reports on Tuesday afternoon suggested the Citizens were still confident of making an 11 th hour bid to snare the centre-half. Speaking after the Foxes’ 1-0 pre-season win over Scunthorpe, Rodgers revealed there had been two bids for the England international. But both offers were deemed unsatisfactory and Maguire will remain at Leicester unless their valuation is met. Harry Maguire trains ahead of the pre-season friendly against Scunthorpe getty images “It’s pretty simple really and we are quite relaxed about it,” Rodgers said of the situation surrounding Maguire. “Harry is a top class player and of course this has attracted interest, with two bids coming in. “But they are nowhere near to meeting the valuation of the club. Harry is relaxed about it, we are, he’s been absolutely brilliant. “I really have to add, because I have been in this situation a number of times where it can be very, very difficult for players. The former Sheffield United defender has developed into a regular for England as well getty images “But he is a special guy. You see him on the pitch, but off the pitch he’s been very professional. The supporters need to know how he has been. “He’s never once sulked, he has just gone with it, he’s integrated into the group, he’s smiled, he’s taken part in everything we have wanted to do and he was sick yesterday and we had a number of players that were sick yesterday after we came back from our trip. “And in these circumstances it can be very easy for him not to play, but he wanted to be with the squad. He came here to play and you can see the quality he has in that 45 minutes.” Since moving to the King Power Stadium in 2017, Maguire has gone from strength-to-strength. \t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t Strong in the tackle and dominant in the air, the centre-half also possesses incredible technique and a glorious range of passing. So while Rodgers can understand the interest in the defender, the Northern Irishman maintains Maguire has acted like a consummate professional throughout proceedings. He added: “I know there has been a lot of noise from third parties and what not. Listen, any conversation with me and a player would be private really. “But listen I respect and understand if the teams like Manchester City or Manchester United are interested. \t \t\t \t\t \t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t LATEST TRANSFER NEWS \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\tgot gaz\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\tRedknapp backs Spurs to complete 'typical Levy deal' and secure cut-price signing\t\t\t \t\t\t \t \t \t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\tdeals\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\tArsenal transfers live: Alves keen, Ceballos close, Giroud explains Chelsea move\t\t\t \t\t\t \t \t \t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\thappy as harry\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\tMan United blow as rivals refuse to admit defeat in pursuit of £80m star\t\t\t \t\t\t \t \t \t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\tunder fire\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t'Be excited' - Kroenke responds to Arsenal fans and gives transfer update\t\t\t \t\t\t \t \t \t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\tdeals\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\tLiverpool transfer news live: Lovren and Kent future latest, Coutinho offer detailed\t\t\t \t\t\t \t \t \t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\tplain roud\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\tLaurent Koscielny 'very hurt by what’s happening at Arsenal', says old teammate\t\t\t \t\t\t \t \t \t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\tIN TIERS\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\tLennon warns Arsenal over Tierney, claims Celtic star 'more rounded' than £50m man\t\t\t \t\t\t \t \t \t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t \t \t \t \t “I have worked at that level with Liverpool and I understand what the attraction can be for a player to go to one of those clubs. “But like I say, we are all pretty relaxed because until the valuation is met, then there is not really a decision.”'

'Callum Hudson-Odoi is currently a BETTER player than Christian Pulisic, Micky Gray has told talkSPORT. The winger, who has one year left on his current deal with Chelsea , broke into the first team under Maurizio Sarri last season and impressed with some fine displays before an Achilles injury cut short his campaign. Hudson-Odoi broke through the ranks at Chelsea last season Pulisic, who joined Chelsea from Borussia Dortmund in January for £58m, will be the only new addition to Frank Lampard’s squad before the 2019/20 campaign. However, Gray believes 18-year-old Hudson-Odoi possesses more quality than the American does at this moment in time. “Hudson-Odoi, if he stays at Chelsea. Personally, at the moment, I think he’s a better player than Pulisic,” Gray told the Sports Bar. “I’ve seen him play six or seven times, and, yes, he’s got some nice ability. Big things are expected of Pulisic at Chelsea “I think he’s raw, and I don’t think he’s ready to play every single week in the Premier League.” Meanwhile, ex-Blues forward Tony Cascarino believes the current Chelsea squad at Lampard’s disposal has more than enough quality to finish above Arsenal and get into the top four this season. The teams Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Frank Lampard could name for their 2019/20 Premier League season opener “Frank’s got a better squad than Arsenal,” Cascarino said. “He’s going to have to be expected to finish in front of  Arsenal  and you could argue get in the top four as well. “People are looking at it and saying maybe they won’t get that and they should sacrifice this season, but I don’t believe for one second Chelsea Football Club will do that.”'
